HEVC (H.265) is a video compression coding standard that allows video compression to be coded much more efficiently, reducing video transmission traffic and storage space requirements. Chroma A223812 supports decoding and playback of HEVC formats for high-resolution video inspection applications.
The A223812 comes with a pre-installed library of 8K high-resolution test videos. Users can use these to assess the picture quality of high-resolution displays, including the readability of each display area and the rendering of realistic and pure color and fine details, as well as their ability to display contrast between dark areas and distinctive human features such as skin color and eyelashes.
The A223812 features a built-in video catalog menu that allows users to select the video they want to play directly on the A223812 touch screen. Users can play and pause the video whenever necessary for convenient video quality inspection.
The A223812 is equipped with a Preview function that allows users to quickly find the test video that best fits their testing needs.
The A223812 can be paired with the Chroma A223814 HDMI 2.1 Signal Module to achieve an 8K dynamic/static mode signal test solution. Both dynamic video and static standard image testing are supported through an external serial connection. The module's program editor enables the user to adjust the test output according to the test requirements, all in all providing a complete 8K display test solution.
Chroma A223812 supports HDMI 2.1 8K@60Hz-resolution image output, which offers more efficient overall image transmission than HDMI 1.4 and meets the needs of today's high-specification 8K image testing.
FRL (Fixed Rate Link) mode improves on the TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) transfer mode previously used for HDMI 1.4/2.0 and enables more efficient video transport. In the FRL 4 Lane mode, users can choose between 6, 8, 10 or 12 Gbps transfer rates, supporting up to 48 Gbps total transmission bandwidth.
VESA DSC (Display Stream Compression) has been adopted by the HDMI Forum in its HDMI 2.1 specification. Chroma A223812 supports VESA DSC version 1.2a with a maximum compression ratio of 3:1. The DSC function allows users to transmit a larger amount of data using the same bandwidth. When the DSC function is not used, the HDMI 2.1 specification supports pixel encoding image output to a maximum resolution of 8K@60Hz. When the DSC function is used, the resolution and color depth can be raised to 8K@60Hz and 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 respectively.
HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) prevents illegal copying of data as it is transmitted through the interface. A223812 supports HDCP versions 2.3, 2.2 and 1.4 and allows the user to freely switch between the three versions.
Chroma A223812 supports a variety of gamut outputs. In addition to the basic gamut spaces, it also supports Wide Color Gamut, including RGB, ITU-R BT.601, ITU-R BT.709 and ITU-R BT.2020. RGB 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 pixel encoding and 24 / 30 / 36 bits color depth can be set up to achieve an even wider color range, true natural color and high-resolution imaging, providing a wide selection of color depths.
The module's two-channel audio output provides up to 48 KHz sampling frequency and AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) format for audio test applications.
The A223812 is a reliable and impartial signal module that delivers best-in-class picture quality inspections and stringent signal integrity tests.
High conductivity beryllium copper improves the conductivity between components and reduces electromagnetic radiation leakage interfering with the DUT, in compliance with CE/EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards.
The A223812 is suitable for a wide range of TV, monitor, projector, signage, outdoor display, demonstration, dynamic video quality inspection, reliability testing, and high-definition medical equipment applications.
